The best way is to arrive the day before your cruise departs, so that you can relax – or simply extend your stay in Cologne after the cruise has ended.

Day 2: Willemstad
The former Dutch fortress of Willemstad is a tranquil little village with a delightful harbor. And of course, a typical dutch town like this can't lack a windmill! During a walk through the quiet town you will surely discover one.

Day 3: Ghent
We will now head along the northern Rhine towards Ghent. Here you’ll find splendid architecture, artistic masterpieces, delightful landscapes and absolute tranquillity. The capital of East Flanders is part of a quartet of Flemish centres of art – the others being Antwerp, Bruges and Brussels. Discover Ghent’s treasures, including the baroque Saint Bavo’s Cathedral and the imposing Gravensteen, a moated castle. And in the old town, you’re sure to find a nice place to sample a good cup of coffee and some Belgian delicacies.

Day 3: Passing the seaport of Westerschelde
The Ijsselmeer is an inland lake that was created by diking the Wadden Sea and the Zuiderzee bay. This is where you’ll find the lovely little town of Hoorn – make sure you explore it during your cruise along the northern Rhine.

Day 3: Passing the seaport of Antwerp

Day 3: Antwerp
The port city of Antwerp is an absolute must-see. Rich in art and culture, it is also known as the ‘Diamond City’ due to its important role in the diamond trade. Antwerp is particularly enjoyable for foodies, thanks to the many tasty Belgian specialities on offer there – including waffles, chocolates and chips.

With almost 7,500 listed buildings, it has the highest concentration of historical monuments in the whole country. Day 6: Hoorn
The delightful little town of Hoorn lies on the Ijsselmeer, towards the northern Rhine. Back in the 16th century, Hoorn was one of the Netherlands’ most important ports. Today, many of its buildings still bear witness to this heyday. A visit to Hoorn during your Rhine cruise is an activity not be missed.

Day 7: Emmerich
The small beautiful town of Emmerich on the lower Lower Rhine gives you a nice time out on land during your cruise. Here you can take a stroll along the promenade and enjoy the magnificent view of the Rhine while discovering the "Golden Gate Bridge of the Lower Rhine", a suspension bridge spanning over the Rhine, which, just like its role model, can be seen from afar in vibrant red. Definitely worth taking a souvenir photo!

Day 8: Cologne
We will set off on our exciting Rhine cruise from here, heading for the northern or the southern Rhine. But you shouldn’t miss out on the opportunity to explore this cathedral city, with its wealth of monuments and attractions. The best way is to arrive the day before your cruise departs, so that you can relax – or simply extend your stay in Cologne after the cruise has ended.

Cruising on a river is certainly not the fastest mode of transportation. And the countless meanders of the Rhine, Danube and Rhône are not the fastest way to get from A to B either. But that’s precisely what we want to give you: a little time for you to relax and unwind. As you leisurely take in the breathtaking riverscape, you can really take time for yourself. Make yourself comfortable in your cosy cabin or simply daydream in SPA-ROSA and on the sun deck. If you like, you can also take part in our many exciting activities.

You'll feel at home before our ship has even set sail. As soon as you enter your cabin, you will feel at home. At home? On holiday? Without a doubt! You can look forward to plenty of space and a plethora of comforts. We have paid particular attention to design and high-quality materials – on each and every cruise ship in our fleet. After all, we know just how important it is to spend the most valuable time of the year in an environment that leaves nothing wanting.

Mealtimes on board A-ROSA are about so much more than just enjoying food. But above all, they’re about enjoying the food to your heart’s content. Put together your own menu at the cooking station, the cold and warm buffet. Or if you like, you can dine in a more exclusive atmosphere. Treat yourself to a really lovely A-ROSA Dining evening as an add-on to your trip. You can look forward to a multi-course seated dinner with a selection of corresponding fine wines from our extensive wine menu.

Because our guests have very different ideas when it comes to the perfect pampering moment, we offer you a wide range of choices to make your very own dream come true. Each of our cruise ships has its own on-board SPA-ROSA where our expert spa and beauty team is waiting to greet you: treat yourself to a massage, facial or manicure. A sauna with a panoramic view of the river and the landscapes will enable you to properly wind down and focus on yourself. But sometimes doing some exercise is the best way to find inner tranquillity. And this is why you’ll find a wide range of keep-fit facilities on board our ships.
